Blogging receives 1st Amdmt protection

The Delaware Supreme Court handed down a ruling to the effect that anonymous bloggers will receive a stronger standard of evidence in defamation cases.  Plaintiffs cannot simply claim defamation and expect ISPs to turn over information and names regarding the blogger.  The court ruled: "The possibility of losing anonymity in a future lawsuit could intimidate anonymous posters into self-censoring their comments or simply not commenting at all."

GOPer joining Downing St Inquiry

http://www.politicalaffairs.net/article/articleview/1719/1/32

Posted over at Raw Story.

While I'm not a big fan of the Downing St. Memo line of inquiry, largely because I think Iraq is going to be dealt with electorally, I'm also not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

How do you report a user?

I've had it up to here with what I strongly suspect is one person, in the League of Supposed Moderates Slash Potential Shills Slash GOP FUDers, cross-posting with at least two freshly minted IDs.

While I try to humor a lot of dumb bullshit -- obviously because that's what I ask of others in regards to my own views -- I would like to know what the procedure for dealing with this sort of thing is.

I don't run around tossing out troll ratings left and right.  Other MyDDers don't do it that often.  There's no excuse -- especially for using multiple IDs to create puffery for views that are not the main on this site.  It makes the few authentic moderates who post here look a bunch of shills, ne'er-do-wells, and just dicks.

GOP pretty glum about Santorum

The batshit crazy wing is clearly losing its hard-on for Ricky.

Hopefully that won't deter them from pouring money into an unwinnable race.

Is Ann Coulter [gag] right?

http://anncoulter.com/cgi-local/printer_friendly.cgi?article=66

On the subject of the appointment of John Roberts as an associate justice of the Supreme Court:

"[ . . .] lets ponder the fact that Roberts has gone through 50 years on this planet without ever saying anything controversial. That's just unnatural. "

Well?  I'll be damned.  When Ann make just a general, apolitical statement like that it kind of makes sense!

Press corps finds its balls in jar, take them out, puts them on

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2005_07_10.php#006048

The White House press corps actually savaged Scott McClellan?

Consider this:

"Scott, is the President aware of Karl Rove's role in leaking information about Joe Wilson's wife?"

Where do you stand on the war(s)?

This is a pretty short and straight-forward diary.

I'm curious where the MyDDers stand on the war(s).  In the aftermath of the London bombings, I'm hearing hints that the anti-war types are feeling their message needs put out there.

Personally, I stand for the war in Afghanistan whole-heartedly, and thought the war in Iraq might have been worthwhile with international support but sure as hell wasn't worth it with a unilateral no-planning approach.

So, here's the question:

Is bin Laden in China?

Now Dick Cheney AND Porter Goss know where bin Laden is.

What makes this interesting is that Goss last week basically said that they know exactly where bin Laden is, but that considerations for the country where he make it impossible to go get him.

Hmm . . .  Let's ponder this a minute.  Consider the countries where he could be:
